The Goods and Services Tax (GST) Department has introduced a new feature of "Multi-State Registration" in the portal. This feature is for taxpayers who want to obtain GST registration for multiple states.

This feature will allow such taxpayers to have a common profile for all state GST registrations. The information provided will be automatically populated in the respective state-specific TRNs generated upon submission.

Individuals are advised to make sure all filled details are complete and accurate before proceeding, as all the information disclosed here will be reflected in the state-specific TRNs.

Previously, taxpayers, in order to obtain GST registration for a different state, had to file a separate application. However, using the new feature, a taxpayer can now select more than one state or union territory (states/UTs) in a single application using a single master TRN.
