ICAI Notification Alert: CA Inter & Foundation Exams to be held thrice in a year ICAI is making significant modifications to their exam procedures! Beginning in May/June 2024, they will provide tests for the Intermediate and Foundation courses three times per year: in May/June, September, and January. This is a significant departure from the previous method of administering tests twice a year, and it marks a watershed moment in CA education. This development is excellent news for anyone studying to become a Chartered Accountant. They will have more opportunities to take tests, allowing them to progress through the curriculum faster. It's all about offering students more flexibility and opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge. To take these tests, students must meet certain conditions. Students must be registered with the Institute's Board of Studies for at least four months for the Foundation course and eight months for the Intermediate course. This is to ensure that they are ready to perform well on the tests. The exams for the Final course will continue to take place twice a year, in May and November. However, the transition to three times a year for Intermediate and Foundation courses demonstrates that the ICAI is truly committed to improving things for CA students. This adjustment was made to assist future Chartered Accountants succeed. ICAI empowers students to take responsibility of their education and careers by giving them more exam scheduling options.

What is the reason behind the ICAI's decision to hold CA exams three times a year?

For CA students, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has decided to make a positive change. With more flexibility and a higher probability of success, they will now be allowed to take the CA exams three times a year. Note: Central Council Member (CCM) Dhiraj Khandelwal announced this action with the goal of reducing student stress and increasing their opportunities for success in their CA journey. The ICAI intends to support students in their quest of lifelong learning by moving the CA Foundation and Inter exams to a triannual format. It is thought that giving them three chances to retake the CA intermediate exam each year will improve their performance and reduce the risk of giving them just one chance to take the test.  New timetable for CA CAundation and Intermediate exams: The updated timetable for CA Foundation and Intermediate exams is as follows:

• CA Foundation June 2024 exams are scheduled to be held on June 20, 22, 24, and 26, 2024.
• CA Intermediate May 2024 exams will take place from May 3 to May 13, 2024.
