ICAI Restores 2798 Chartered Accountants Retrospectively to Register of Members
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the restoration of 2798 Chartered Accountants (CAs) into its Register of Members, effective retrospectively (from a past date).
Meaning, these chartered accountants have been formally qualified as active members of ICAI. Being registered in the ICAI register of members means the individual has successfully passed all necessary examinations, completed practical training, and met other requirements. A legal authority has been granted to them to practise as a CA in India.
The ICAI has taken this action in pursuance of Regulation 19 and Regulation 20 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, vide a Notification No. 3NCA(5)/1/2023-2024, dated March 21, 2026.
