• Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from sections ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
• Should hold an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics.

• Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from sections ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).

Selection Procedure for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024:

The selection of Assistant Commandants is based on an all-India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidates in various stages (I – V) of examination.

• Stage I: Computer-Based Common Admission Test (CGCAT), which is an online exam to shortlist candidates. The test will be conducted in designated centers located all over India.
• Stage II: Based on their performance in Stage I, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in Stage II. shortlisted candidates will undergo the Preliminary Selection Board (PSB), where they take a Cognitive Battery Test and participate in a Picture Perception & Discussion Test to assess their reasoning and communication skills.
• Stage III: candidates who pass the PSB will attend the Final Selection Board (FSB) in Noida, where they will face psychological tests, group activities, and interviews. Successful candidates then move to the next round.
• Stage IV: The candidates who clear Stage III are required to undergo a special medical examination at Base Hospital, New Delhi.
• Stage V: selected candidates join the Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Ezhimala for a 44-week orientation course and comprehensive training.
