Indian Coast Guard is looking for eligible candidates for the posts of Assistant Commandant in General Duty (GD), Technical (Mechanical) and Technical (Electrical/ Electronics) Branches. There are a total of 70 vacant seats available for the aforementioned post, as per the official notification of Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024.

Tenure for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024:

In accordance with the official notification of Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024, the tenure is mentioned below:

• The candidates selected for training will be required to report at INA Ezhimala to undergo Naval Orientation Course for 44 weeks followed by ab-initio training at various training establishments/ units/ ships of Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard.

Required Qualifications for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024:

According to the official notification of Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024, the eligibility criteria are listed below.

For General Duty (GD)-

• The candidate should hold a degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks.
• The candidate should have mathematics and Physics as subjects up to Intermediate or class XII of the 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after the diploma, are also eligible, provided they possess an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

For Technical (Mechanical)-

• The candidate should have an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. OR
• The candidate should have an equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognized by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from sections ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
• The candidate should have mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XII of the 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after the diploma, are also eligible, provided they possess an aggregate of 55% marks in the diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

For Technical (Electrical/ Electronics)-

• The candidate should have an Engineering degree from a recognized university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks. OR
• The candidate should have equivalent qualifications in any of the above disciplines recognized by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from sections ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
• The candidate should have mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XII of the 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics.

Age Limit for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024:

• The minimum age limit should be 21 years, and the maximum age limit should be 25 years as on 01-07-2024.
• The upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates are applicable only if the posts are reserved for them.

Pay Scale for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024:

• The candidate will get a monthly salary up to Rs.225000.

Selection Process for Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024:

Referring to the official notification of Indian Coast Guard Recruitment 2024, the selection of Assistant Commandants is based on an all India order of merit which is based on the performance of candidates in various stages (Stage-I- CGCAT, Stage II- Preliminary Selection Board (PSB), Stage III- Final Selection Board (FSB), Stage IV- Medical Examination, Stage V- Induction ) of examination and the number of vacancies available for the post. Clearing of Stages I, II, III, IV and V is compulsory for recruitment in ICG.
