Jubilant FoodWorks Receives Rectification Order from Income Tax Department; Files Appeal Against Tax Demand
Jubilant FoodWorks Limited, the company behind Domino's Pizza, Popeyes, informed about the receipt of a rectification order from the Income Tax Department on December 4, 2025. According to the disclosure filed with BSE and NSE, the Income Tax Department has reduced the tax demand from Rs 216.19 crore to Rs 190.21 crore for the financial year 2020-21.
However, Jubilant FoodWorks has clearly stated that it does not agree with this tax demand, even after the rectification. The company believes that the income tax department has ignored its explanation and arguments in the demand raised in this order. Because of this, the company has already filed an appeal challenging the order. The company is expecting that after the redressal process, the tax demand may be deleted. The company has also stated that it does not expect any major financial impact because of this issue.
Jubilant FoodWorks Limited is India's largest food service company, which operates quick service restaurants like Domino's Pizza, Popeyes, and Dunkin' Donuts.
