Ministry of Culture Recruitment 2022: Ministry of Culture has invited the application in its department for the Archivist (General) Post. There are total 13 vacant positions in the department which is break-up according to category wise such as UR/EWS/OBC/SC etc. The selected candidate will get a pay scale between Rs. 47600 – Rs. 151100 as per the official notification of the Ministry of Culture Recruitment 2022. The selected candidate will remain on probation period for two years after the selection.
The Age Limit should not exceed 30 years as on the closing date for application. Candidates belonging to EWS Category should not exceed 30 years. Candidates belonging to the SC category should not exceed 35 years and the Age Limit for the Other backward class is 33 years. As per the Official Notification of the Ministry of Culture Recruitment 2022 selected candidate will get a pay scale between Rs 47600 – Rs. 151100.
A. EDUCATIONAL-
Master’s Degree in History with a paper in Modern Indian History from a recognized university or institute.
Note I- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
B. EXPERIENCE-
(I) Diploma in Archives and Record Management from a recognized university or institute and two years experience in an Archives Office in a supervisory capacity or research or teaching of Modern Indian History at the undergraduate level in a recognized institution or university.
Or
(II) Three years experience in an Archives Office in a supervisory capacity or research or teaching of Modern Indian History at undergraduate level in a recognized educational institution or university.
Note II-The qualification regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, if at any stage of selection, the Union Public Service Commission is of the opinion that the sufficient number of candidates from this community possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the vacancy reserved for them.
Desirable Qualification
i. English as one of the subjects of study at the degree level
ii. Diploma or Certificate in Computer Applications or Information Technology
iii. Certificate of proficiency from a recognized university or institute in foreign or other Indian languages besides the candidate’s mother tongue.
To perform duties likes editing, annotating, publication of historical documents, supervise the work of the section for day-to-day supply and restoration of records and search cases, taking action for accessioning and arranging of records transferred, implementing the various provisions of Public Records Act 1993 and Public Records Rules 1997 by way of performing /undertaking, appraisal of records, vetting of records retention schedule, inspection of Departmental Records Rooms, tendering advice on records, providing guidance to research scholars, deliver lectures to trainees, organise exhibitions of documents, supervise and compile the indexes and preparation of automated reference media of records housed any work assigned by the DG of archives and senior officers.
