NEET Result 2024 Controversy: The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2024 results on June 4, 2024. After the result release numerous parents and children raised objections regarding the examination, result release and the evaluation process. Today a big student group from the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) gathered together for the protest against the National Test Agency, NTA on the irregularities in the NEET 2024 exam.

Approximately a hundred workers from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), a student wing of the RSS came onto the streets in Jabalpur to protest the alleged irregularities in the NEET UG 2024 results.

On Monday, at the city’s Ghanta Ghar students gathered and raised slogans against the National Test Agency, NTA as it is the body responsible for organising the NEET UG Examination and also for the result declaration. Hence according to the students, the same body is responsible for irregularities raised in the NEET UG examination this year, 2024.

Medical students stressed due to the irregularities made by NTA have raised their voices on social media. Students are requesting to cancel the NEET UG exam result and have appealed for a re-examination. Numerous objections have been raised on a topic i.e., “How candidates can get scores like 718 and 719 in NEET UG? as it is not at all possible as per the marking scheme”.

Numerous student associations, academicians, and politicians have gathered together demanding a fair and transparent exam system under NTA. Medical students have requested the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate the suspected paper leak and other anomalies in the NEET exam 2024.

  • The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union (JNUSU) protested at the Ministry of Education, New Delhi at 10 AM in the morning.
  • The All-India Students’ Association (AISA) called an “All India Protest Day” alleging corruption in the National Testing Agency, NTA.
  • They demanded the end of the irregularities in NEET Result 2024.
  • The Students Federation of India (SFI) Delhi also organised a protest today at 10 AM at the Ministry of Education, New Delhi. They demanded the cancellation of the exam and requested for the NEET re-examination this year.

NEET Result 2024 Controversy: What are They

  • Of the total candidates who appeared for the NEET UG examination this year, 67 of them got full marks means 720/720.
  • Some of the students got scores like 718 and 719, which is not impossible to gain in NEET UG as per the NTA marking scheme (4 marks for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer) and 44 out of the 67 who received full marks were awarded the All India Rank (AIR) 1.
  • This year a total of 67 candidates scored a percentile score of 99.997129 in the NEET UG Exam.
  • This year NEET UG result was released 10 days earlier on June 4, 2024, the same day the LS poll result 2024 was released.
  • As per the reports, numerous toppers of NEET UG were from the same exam centres where disruptions were noticed at the point of examination. A total of 8 students got 720/720 marks and were in from the same exam centre in Jhajjar, Haryana.
  • A dispute was noticed in the Physics answer key. It was noticed that one of the questions in Physics paper two options were correct. Approximately 13,000 of the students challenged the NEET UG 2024 answer key for that particular question. Objections were raised on, the candidate to select any one answer among the two received five grace marks, while the candidates who were able to find the mistake of two correct answers and chose to skip were not similarly compensated.
  • It is also said that the NEET UG question paper was leaked this year, and three reports regarding this were noticed. Police registered cases, and arrested around a dozen candidates caught doing unfair practices at the exam centres.
