More than 30.75 lakh audit reports, including approximately 29.5 lakh Tax Audit Reports, were filed on the e-filing portal for AY 2023-24 until the end of the due date on 30th September 2023.

Over 30 Lakhs Audit Reports filed on Income Tax Department’s e-filing portal till 30th September, 2023

More than 30.75 lakh audit reports, including approximately 29.5 lakh Tax Audit Reports, were filed on the e-filing portal for AY 2023-24 until the end of the due date on 30th September 2023 with respect to filing of Tax Audit Reports (TARs) and other audit reports in Form No. 29B, 29C, 10CCB, etc., ensuring timely compliances.

Extensive outreach programmes were carried out to assist taxpayers. Around 55.4 lakh outreaches were conducted via e-mails, SMSs, social media and information messages on the Income Tax portal to raise awareness among taxpayers about the importance of filing Tax Audit Reports and other audit forms on time. To provide guidance, various user awareness videos were uploaded to the Income Tax portal.

Such collaborative efforts have aided taxpayers and tax professionals in submitting audit reports on time.

The e-filing portal handled the traffic well, providing taxpayers and tax professionals with a smooth experience when filing audit reports. This easy filing experience has been praised by professionals across multiple platforms, including social media.

In the month of September 2023, the e-filing Helpdesk team handled approximately 2.36 lakh queries from taxpayers, proactively supporting taxpayers and tax professionals during the filing period and assisting them in resolving any complexity involved. The helpdesk provided assistance via inbound and outbound calls, live chats, Webex, and co-browsing sessions.

The Helpdesk team also assisted in the resolution of queries received on the Department’s Twitter handle via Online Response Management (ORM), by proactively reaching out to taxpayers/ stakeholders and providing assistance on various issues in near real-time. Several webinars on filing Audit forms were held to assist Tax professionals.
