Aadhaar OTP Now Mandatory for PAN Registration

PAN Registration on Income Tax Portal Now Requires Aadhaar-Linked Mobile OTP
The Income Tax Department has introduced an amendment in the process of registering an individual PAN on its portal.
Now, it has been made mandatory for users to verify their Aadhaar-based OTP (One-Time Password) in order to complete the registration process. This step has been made compulsory to ensure your Aadhar is linked to one of your working mobile numbers. Meaning if your Aadhaar is not linked to a number, you will not receive OTP.
During the registration process, users will be asked to allow the system to check their details with the Aadhaar database (UIDAI). Then, an OTP will be sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number. You must enter this OTP to finish registering your PAN. Without completing this Aadhaar-based OTP step, you would not be able to register your PAN on the ITD portal.
