Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme 2026: A Gateway to Real-World Experience for Youth
The Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme has been launched by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) under the Government of India. Under the said scheme, the government had decided to provide internships to one crore youths in the top 500 companies, and the government has five years to complete this objective. Under the said scheme, youth will be made familiar with real-life business environments across varied professions and employment opportunities for 12 months.
Candidates selected under the scheme will be provided Rs 4500 by the Government of India in the form of monthly assistance and Rs 500 by the industry. Candidates will also be offered a one-time grant of Rs 6000 for incidentals. The internship tenure is for 12 months.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfil the following eligibility criteria to apply for the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme:- Candidates must possess an Indian nationality.
- The age limit of candidates should be between 21 and 24 years as of the due date of application submission.
- The family income of candidates should not exceed Rs 8 lakh.
- Candidates should have completed their high school or higher secondary school; possess a certificate from an ITI; hold a diploma from a polytechnic institute; or be graduates with degrees such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.
- Candidates must be involved in full-time education.
- Candidates should not be engaged in full-time employment.

- Educational Certificates
- Proof of Age
- Bank Account Details
- Any other documents as required
How to Register
Candidates can follow the steps below to apply for the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme:- Step 1: Visit the official website of the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme.
- Step 2: On the homepage, click on the "Youth Registration" or “Register Now” option available in the PM Internship Offers section.
- Step 3: Enter a valid mobile number. Make sure the number is linked to your Aadhaar.
- Step 4: Confirm the number via OTP.
- Step 5: Set up a new password. Log in using OTP and update the password on the first login.
- Step 6: Complete your profile using E-KYC. E-KYC can be completed using two methods:
- Using DigiLocker: Connect the application using your Aadhaar number, mobile number linked to Aadhaar, and DigiLocker security PIN.
- By filling in personal details such as contact information, education, bank details, skills and languages, and uploading certificates.
Application Process to Apply for Internship
Candidates can follow the below-stated steps to complete the application process for the internship:- Step 1: After completing the aforementioned registration process, click on "View & Apply Internship" available on the homepage of the website.
- Step 2: After reviewing the details, click on "Apply" in the Action column, if interested.
- Step 3: Fill in all relevant details, and thereafter, click on the "Submit" button to complete the application process.
How to Track Your Application
By following the below-stated steps, youths who have filled in application forms for the internship can track their application:- Step 1: On the candidate account page, visit the "Track Your Application" section.
- Step 2: You can also see updates on offers received, accepted, or waitlisted for each internship by using the table.
