RBI Set to Release Notes of Rs 10 and Rs 500 Having Governor Malhotra’s Signature The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced that it will soon release new Rs. 10 and Rs. 500 notes. These notes will be part of the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series and will carry the signature of the current RBI Governor, Sanjay Malhotra. The design of these new notes will be the same as the old ones already in circulation. The only change is the governor's signature. The old Rs. 10 notes issued earlier will still be valid. You can continue to use them. They will continue to be legal tender. Also, all Rs. 500 notes from the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series that were given earlier by RBI will also remain legal tender. This means that you can still use them. Last month, RBI said it would issue new notes of Rs. 100 and Rs. 200 notes with the signature of the new Governor, Sanjay Malhotra. He became the RBI Governor in December 2024, replacing Shaktikanta Das.
