RBI to conduct fine-tuning operations to manage unanticipated liquidity flows: Shaktikanta Das
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will conduct fine-tuning operations to manage unexpected and one-off cash flows, Governor Shaktikanta Das said on Tuesday.
As the market establishes its position in normal operations, the Reserve Bank of India will make fine-tuning operations from time to time as needed to manage unexpected and one-off cash flows, so that the liquidity situation in the system develops in a balanced and evenly Distributed manner., Das said.
Also, He spoke at a conference organized by the Fixed Income Money Market and Derivatives Association of India (FIMMDA) and the Primary Dealers’ Association of India (PDAI).
The Governor stated that government securities are a unique asset class and it is important to understand the role of the g-sec market in the overall macro interest rate environment of the economy.
