Schools and Colleges Closed in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan Due to India Pakistan Conflict

Due to the rising conflicts between India and Pakistan following the operation sindoor that was conducted on Wednesday, the authorities have made the decision for the closure of all schools, colleges and educational institutions for the three working days in sight of the rising tensions between India and Pakistan. On this thursday evening, J-K government made the decision and ordered all the schools, colleges and universities in Union Territory for the closure till saturday as a precaution. On monday, CM Omar Abdullah will review this decision as said by him.

However, the Leh government declared on Friday that all of the schools in district will stay closed for the same duration of time. In the regions of Sri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, and Barmer in Rajasthan, both public and private schools have been closed. All the colleges located in jodhpur were also ordered to stay closed, besides the schools. Due to the potential threat of airstrikes, a blackout was imposed in the western Rajasthani border regions from midnight to four in the morning after a high alert was issued.

Also, the punjab government has made the decision for the closure of all educational institutions and ordered them for the same to take place. The officials of chandigarh, mohali and panchkula aslo ordered that the schools will be remaining closed on Friday, Saturday, said on thursday. The punjab university located in chandigarh also postponed the exams that were scheduled to be conducted on May 9, 10, and 12. The officials of the university will announce the new dates later when decided. In haryana also, all the educational institutions will be remaining closed on friday and saturday, as per the officials.

Similarly, the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has declared that the remaining exams are postponed of Chartered Accountant (CA) that were to be conducted in May 2025 from May 9 to May 14. These exams included CA Final, Intermediate and Post Qualification Course (PQC) examination. The official said that the revised dates will be announced in “due course”.
