Schools in Bihar to Remain Closed till this Date; Know the Reason and When School will Reopen 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the state would continue to experience “severe heatwave” conditions for another three to four days and issued a red alert in the northern and southern regions until June 14.
In a statement, IMD’s Patna Center said, “Heatwave to severe heatwave conditions are very likely in the southern and northern parts of the state till June 14. Individuals have been advised to stay indoors as prolonged exposure to the sun might lead to heat-related illnesses”.

The state education department in Bihar issued an order on Monday to close all the government-run schools till June 15, 2024, due to the severe weather conditions caused by heatwaves.
On Monday, the temperature reached over 44 degrees Celsius in nine areas. The highest temperature of 45.9 degrees Celsius was recorded in Buxar and Bhojpur. Other places that recorded higher temperatures than 44 degrees Celsius include Buxar Arwal (45.7 degrees), Dehri (45.6 degrees), Aurangabad and Bikramganj (45.5 degrees each), Gaya (45.1 degrees), and Nawada (44.9 degrees).

What did the education department say on this?
“Given the intense heatwave conditions prevailing in the state and the further warning issued by the IMD, the department has ordered the closure of all government-run schools in the state from June 11 to June 15, 2024.” Since schools will remain closed, holidays will be declared for teachers as well till June 15, 2024,” the order of the education department said.
