Supriya Sule Requests Extension of November Tax Compliance Deadlines

Supriya Sule, a long-serving Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) for Baramati and the Working National President of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar), has urged the Honourable Finance Minister to consider extensions in the tax compliance deadlines, like for TDS/TCS payments due on 7 November and several GST filings scheduled between November 10 and 13.
Supriya Sule highlighted that Diwali, being one of India's biggest festivals, celebrated almost in every part of the nation, the compliance deadlines falling on these festive dates are mounting pressure on Chartered Accountants, tax practitioners, traders and small businesses.
Supriya Sule disclosed that she also had a meeting with Mr Nagesh Shivaji Salunkhe, State President of the Nationalist Congress Party Tax Practitioners Cell, Maharashtra, who furnished a memorandum emphasising all the concerns taxpayers are facing in completing their compliance filings.
She further flagged that Diwali is a major festival in India and is an important time for families. Those who are required to complete their statutory filings during this period also deserve the opportunity to celebrate it with their loved ones.
Considering these facts, Supriya Sule requested the honourable finance minister to grant suitable relief and consider a festival-sensitive compliance calendar to avoid such difficulties in the future.
Urging Hon’ble Union Finance Minister @nsitharaman ji to consider extending tax compliance deadlines during Diwali 2026. With TDS/TCS payments due on 7 November and several GST filings scheduled between 10 and 13 November, Chartered Accountants, tax practitioners, traders and small businesses face considerable pressure during the festive season. Mr. Nagesh Shivaji Salunkhe, State President of the @NCPspeaks Tax Practitioners Cell, Maharashtra, met me and submitted a memorandum highlighting these concerns. Diwali is an important time for families, and those fulfilling these statutory obligations deserve the opportunity to celebrate it with their loved ones. I request the Finance Ministry to provide suitable relief and consider a festival-sensitive compliance calendar to avoid such difficulties in the future. @FinMinIndia
