Updates Introduced to Form 13 (Transfer-out) Functionality – Simplification of Transfer Claim Process

EPFO has enhanced the Form 13 (Transfer-out) feature to make the process of transferring PF accounts easier and faster when members switch jobs. One of the major changes is the elimination of the three-level verification process at the new (Transferee) office. Now, when the transfer claim is settled at the previous (Transferor) office, the PF balance and pension particulars get added to the new office automatically without further processing. The new form also facilitates better member verification, as all necessary details, including KYC, available balances, contributions, transfers, withdrawals, and interest computation (separated into taxable and non-taxable parts), are accessed at a single location.

In addition, the system now compares KYC details between the old and new member IDs, especially for transfers to unexempted establishments, which increases transparency. The revamped Form 13 also includes an additional page, Annexure K, which clearly displays both taxable and non-taxable PF components, allowing for easy verification of these details. To improve security, a Unique Transaction ID is generated for each transfer, enabling better tracking throughout the process.

Once all the approvals are done at the Transferor office, the PF balance, taxable elements (if any) and service details are updated in the Transferee office’s system immediately. These improvements are expected to cut down processing time, making the transfers faster, error-free and resulting in fewer complaints and delays. Basically, the new process is designed to offer EPFO members a smoother and more efficient experience when transferring their PF accounts.
