61 Indians, Including CAs Stranded in Georgia Amid War: MEA Confirms Evacuation
A group of 61 Indian citizens from Rajasthan, among them mostly individuals who are Chartered Accountants and their family members, are trapped in Georgia, as their scheduled flight on June 13, 2025, from Georgia to India was cancelled due to ongoing military tensions between Israel and Iran. They went to the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, to attend a professional event. The flight was scheduled to land in Jaipur on June 14 at 04:45 am; however, due to the war-like situation, it was cancelled, and families got stuck in Georgia. Now, from June 13, 2025, families are eagerly awaiting to reach their homes (India).
Among these individuals, three were residents of Jaisalmer who were supposed to return to their homes on Friday but got stuck due to a dispute over an international flight cancellation.
A Residential Refresher Course was organised by the Rajasthan Tax Consultant Association, in which 65 people (CAs and their families) took part in Georgia.
The group stuck in Georgia has also shared a post on the social media platform X, tagging Prime Minister Narendra Modi and requesting him to immediately send them assistance.
On June 13, 2025, Charanjeet Singh, Additional Secretary from the Ministry of External Affairs, responded to an email about 65 Indian travellers stuck in Georgia due to a recent awake of war situation. In the mail, he wrote that the Indian Embassy in Tbilisi is aware of the situation and can be contacted on their emergency number, +995-59103-6713.
He also added that they have already contacted IndiGo Airlines, and the airline has confirmed that it will organise a special flight the next day to bring back the stranded Indian passengers. IndiGo staff will be contacting the concerned person directly via email.
The response was addressed to Shri Gupta ji and was also shared with other key officials, including those from the embassy and the Ministry of External Affairs.About Author
