According to the official notification of IIT Bombay recruitment 2023, applications are invited for the post of Student Counselor. There are a total of 02 vacancies.

Job Profile- The student counselor will support the mental and physical health and emotional well being of all students. They will provide a high quality counseling service to students experiencing a wide range of social, emotional and health issues. They will be a key to the Institute’s commitment to ensure allstudents reach their academic potential, develop the values and behaviours, the Institute espousesand are best prepared for a fulfilled and successful life. They will significantly contribute to the safeguarding and promotion of the welfare andbpersonal care of all the students.

Age Limit for IIT Bombay Recruitment 2023:

The maximum age limit to apply for the post is 40 years as given in the official notification of IIT Bombay.

Age relaxation is applicable as per Institute norms.

Pay Scale for IIT Bombay Recruitment 2023:

According to the official notification of IIT Bombay recruitment 2023, candidates will be given a monthly remuneration between Rs. 56100 to Rs. 177500.

Qualification for IIT Bombay Recruitment 2023:

Candidates must have the given below qualifications to apply for IIT Bombay recruitment 2023.

Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade point average with relevant experience of six years after the qualifying degree, out of which three years should be in counseling at an academic / medical institution OR

Master’s degree in Psychology with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade point average and diploma in Mental and/or Social Psychology with relevant experience of six years after the diploma, out of which three years should be in counseling at an academic / medical institution.

For applicants with Ph.D. degree in relevant discipline, duration of Ph.D. up to three years would be counted towards experience.

Desirable-

• Additional certifications in Mental Health or Counselling.
• Require good verbal, written skills, ability to communicate adequately with diverse students and various stakeholders.
• At least 3 years of experience in psychological counselling of young adults living in a fully residential campus of an academic institution of repute.

Selection Procedure for IIT Bombay Recruitment 2023:

Candidates will be selected on the basis of written test and interview. On the basis of the performance of candidates in the written test, a shortlist of maximum 7 candidates, in order of merit, per number of positions advertised under each category, will be drawn, subject to they getting marks above the cut-off as specified below (in case of tie in marks/ score, all the candidates with equal marks may be called for further selection process).
