On 1st July 2024, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the results of the UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations. Results for candidates who took the Civil Services (Preliminary) Exam are available on the UPSC website, upsc.gov.in.

There were multiple exam centres across the nation on 16th June 2024, for the UPSC Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations 2024. The Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) and General Studies exams were taken by over 13.4 lakh candidates in two sessions. Out of almost 13.4 lakh applicants, 14,625 students out of around 13.4 lakh candidates made it past the first round.

The IFS cutoff is predicted to be between 102 and 105, while the cutoff scores for the General category are estimated to be between 90 and 95. Those who were successful felt relief and happiness, while those who were unsuccessful expressed disappointment and a resolve to try again later. It is recommended that applicants concentrate on writing their answers, taking notes, and taking practice exams in order to get ready for the main exam.

1. Which UPSC Prelims score is the lowest?

  • Candidates should score more than 66 on the CSAT, however, they must meet the annual cutoff in GS Paper 1. For instance, 75.41 marks is the cutoff for the UPSC preliminary exams.

2. When is the UPSC preliminary exam cutoff?

  • A candidate needs to receive at least 33% of the possible points in both the GS paper 2 and the overall qualifying marks in the GS paper 1 in order to be eligible for the Prelims test.
