CLAT 2025: The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the CLAT 2025 notification and exam dates. The CLAT 2025 is scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Time extension has been awarded to the candidates belonging to the PwD category, their timing is from 2:00 to 4:40 PM. The online application forms to register for the CLAT 2025 examination, will open from July 15, 2024 and will be closed on October 15, 2024. The CLAT 2025 examination will be organised in pen and paper mode (Offline) and will be conducted all over India, in more than 133 exam centres.

The CLAT 2025 notification is set to be released in the month of July. The application fee to register for the CLAT 2025 is Rs. 4,000 for general category candidates and Rs. 3,500 for candidates belonging to lower castes like SC, ST and BPL category candidates. The CLAT 2025 examination comprises subjects like legal aptitude, current affairs, general knowledge, English, maths and logical reasoning at the UG level and LLB subjects at the PG level. The Common Law Admission Test is an examination that is accepted as the admission core in 24 national law universities (NLUs). The CLAT 2025 will overall include 120 objective-type questions.

CLAT 2025: What is this Examination?

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level entrance exam, administered by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). This exam is held every year once for admission into the 5-year integrated LLB (UG) and one-year LLM (PG) courses. The exam is organised to get admission into 24 NLUs for UG courses and 21 NLUs for PG courses. Year year the exam is held in offline mode i.e., Pen and Paper. The CLAT Exam includes subjects or topics related to legal aptitude, current affairs, general knowledge, English, maths and logical reasoning.

Admission into the National Law Universities (NLUs) is based on the CLAT scores gained by the candidate. However, other than NLU there are other colleges too which accept admissions based on the candidate’s CLAT performance.

CLAT 2025: UG Program Education Qualification

Candidates who want to get admission into the Undergraduate programme (Five Year Integrated Law Degree) in National Law Universities (NLUs) must have the following education qualifications as below:

Candidates must have passed their 10+2 examination with a minimum of:

  • 45% marks in both the examinations from a well-recognised board or equivalent grade.
  • 40% marks are compulsory to be gained by the candidates belonging to lower caste candidates (SC/ST/PwD) in both examinations.
  • Note: Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in March/April 2025, are too eligible to register for CLAT 2025.

CLAT 2025: PG Program Education Qualification

Candidates who want to get admission into the Postgraduate programme (One Year LL.M Degree) in National Law Universities (NLUs) must have the following education qualifications as below:

A candidate must have an LL.B Degree or equivalent examination with a minimum of:

  • 50% marks in LL.B or equivalent examination.
  • 45% marks are compulsory to be gained by the candidates belonging to lower caste candidates (SC/ST/PwD).
  • Note: Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination in March/April 2025, are too eligible to register for CLAT 2025.

CLAT 2025: Application Fee

The application fee to register for the CLAT 2025 examination for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes.

  • For candidates belonging to general category= Rs. 4,000/-
  • For candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD/BPL= Rs. 3,500/-

CLAT 2025: Age Limit

All candidates want to register for the CLAT 2025, there is no particular age limit set to register for the CLAT 2025. Candidates of any age are allowed to appear for CLAT 2025.
