Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) is recruiting eligible and educated candidates for the posts of Consultant (Retired Govt. Servants) Grade-II and Senior Consultant. Candidates hired for the post of Consultant (Retired Govt. Servants) Grade-II will provided monthly remuneration of Rs. 65,000/- (Fixed) per month subject to:

• The salary of the Consultant will be fixed on a ‘Last pay drawn minus basic pension’ basis.
• In case officers retire under the New Pension Scheme, their salary will be fixed ‘after deduction of 30% of the last basic pay from the last basic pay’, as per GOI, Ministry of Finance, Deptt of Expenditure guidelines on the subject, whichever is lower. Plus transport allowance per month = 7200/- (Fixed) OR rate applicable at the time of retirement, whichever is lower (Fixed)

For Senior Consultant post:

• Candidates hired for the post of Senior Consultant will provided monthly remuneration between Rs. 1,50,000 to Rs. 2,20,000 (Fixed) per month. OR
• The salary of the Sr. Consultant will be fixed on the ‘Last pay drawn minus basic pension’ basis OR
• In case officers retire under the New Pension Scheme, their salary will be fixed ‘after deduction of 30% of the last basic pay from the last basic pay’, as per GOI, Ministry of Finance, Deptt of Expenditure guidelines on the subject, whichever is lower. Plus transport allowance per month @ 7,200/- (Fixed) Or rate applicable at the time of retirement, whichever is lower (Fixed).

Educational Qualifications Required for TRAI Recruitment 2024:

Candidates must hold the following educational degrees to apply for the TRAI Recruitment 2024:

• For Consultant (Retired Govt. Servants) Grade-II post: Candidates applying for Consultant (Retired Govt. Servants) Grade-II post must hold a Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in qualification Science/ Engineering / Business Administration/Economics/Commerce/Law from a recognized University /Institution.
• For Senior Consultant post: Candidates applying for Consultant post must hold a Master’s/Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University or Institution.

• Candidates must be an officer retired from a Centre/ State Ministry/ Department/ Organization/ Autonomous Body/ Statutory Body/ PSU and should have worked as Under Secretary/AGM or on an equivalent post or 3 years as a Section Officer or equivalent post.
• Candidates should have Experience working in the Telecom Sector or in Central Regulatory Bodies.

For Senior Consultant post:

Candidates must be an officer retired from a Centre/ State Ministry/ Department/ Organization/ Autonomous Body/ Statutory Body/ PSU and should have a minimum of 25 years of experience in the Telecom/Broadcasting field with vide exposure of working in technology, standardization, regulatory policy in Govt. / Public Sector/Industry. Working experience in the following fields is desired:

• Telecom/ Broadcasting Regulation
• Experience working with telecom service providers/OEM of telecom products
• Experience in Telecom Standardization

Tenure for TRAI Recruitment 2024:

Candidates hired for TRAI Recruitment 2024 for both Consultant (Retired Govt. Servants) Grade-II and Senior Consultant posts will be appointed for a period of one year which is further extendable based on the requirement of TRAI and the performance of the Consultant).
