Students Are Warned by Delhi University About “Fake Winter Holidays” Through an Official Notice

Delhi University has recently released an official notice, warning students about a recently circulated notice on various social media platforms claiming Delhi University has announced winter break in their colleges from November 19 to 27, 2024 due to the bad Air Quality Index (AQI) in the national capital and therefore announced GRAP-IV measures in Delhi.

Delhi University has released an official notice on formerly twitter, stating that the recently circulated notice on behalf of Delhi University was a fake notice, and warned all the students to stay aware of this fake information.

The fake notice released on behalf of Delhi University stated, “In order to tide over the prevailing environmental pollution caused by Severe Air Quality and implementation of GRAP -IV measures in Delhi, it has been decided to declare November 19 to November 27, 2024, as winter break for the university and its colleges. However, all the prescheduled examinations and interviews will be held without any changes in the schedule. This is issued with the approval of the Competent Authority.”

Delhi Unversity has now stated officially that the regular classes for college students will be recontinued from November 25, 2024 and online classess will continue till November 23, 2024.

Official notice states, “The Air Quality Index in Delhi and NCR has deteriorated to an alarming high index. In the larger interest of the students of the colleges and the departments of the University of Delhi, it has been decided that the classes shall be conducted online mode till Saturday the 23rd of November, 2024. Regular classes in physical mode resume from Monday the 25th November 2024.”
