JEE Mains 2025: CSAB-NEUT Round To Encourage More Participation From North-Eastern States

JEE Mains 2025 NEUT Round: The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) 2025 welcomed candidates from the northeastern states of the country to submit applications for the Joint Entrance Examination, or JEE Mains 2025. Officially, notification issued by CSAB has referred that the North as having a colossal hidden talent. And NIT Rourkela is putting strong efforts into pushing students from that region to participate in JEE Mains.

Recognizing the fact that students from North-Eastern states and Union Territories have challenges different from the rest, CSAB offers specially tailored opportunities by conducting exclusive rounds of counselling. Specific initiatives for North-Eastern students are:

CSAB-NEUT Round: CSAB-2025 would also conduct rounds of CSAB-NEUT (North Eastern States and Some Union Territories) in order to provide seats at many AICTE-approved universities/institutes all over the country under the scheme of reservation of seats in degree-level technical courses for states/UTs lacking such facilities in the AICTE-approved institutions to candidates of the North-Eastern states and Union territories.

CSAB Special Round: It gives a final chance to candidates who could not manage to secure a seat at an NIT+ institution by failing to clear the initial JoSAA/CSAB counselling rounds.

In the year 2025, around 2,000 seats are expected under the State Quota in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs in northeastern states, in addition to 740 seats from across India, categorized as NEUT. In NITs, 50% of total seats are held under the state quota for local students, and the other 50% are for the other state quota so that North-eastern students get a chance for admission in NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs in other states also.

After clearing the JEE Main, candidates can partake in seat allocation, which begins with the five rounds that JoSAA-2025 has organised for admissions in IITS as well as in the NIT+ system. Later, there is a CSAB-special round organized by the CSAB-2025. The NIT+ system, meanwhile, ensures numerous possibilities for the meritorious students that can fill up the vacant seat.
