Agniveer Petition: Notice issued to Army by MP High Court Over Selection Criteria
Agniveer Petition: The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued notices to the central government and the Army in response to a plea demanding the disclosure of exam scores and selection criteria for Agniveers. The petition requests for the disclosure of cut-off marks, selection criteria, written and physical test results, and the names of all candidates selected as Agniveer (General Duty) and Agniveer (Tradesmen) during this recruitment, the results of selected candidates in the Agniveer recruitment drive were announced on November 26, 2022.
The nine petitioners were unsuccessful in the Agniveer recruitment process held here last year, with physical tests held from September 15 to 25, 2022, and the written examination was conducted on November 13, 2022, according to their advocate NS Rupiah. He stated that the petitioners were hopeful of passing the examinations and had moved the HC for relief in the form of a directive to the respondents to reveal their OMR sheets and written test scores. The notices were issued by a single bench of the High Court of Justice Vishal Dhagat and are due back by the week beginning May 1.
The respondents in the petition are the Union government through the Defence Secretary and the Indian Army’s Recruitment Officer Headquarters Recruiting Zone (MP & CG) situated in Jabalpur. – As said by NS Ruprah.
