American Express is hiring an experienced Analyst -Compensation at their Gurgaon location. The person successful in gaining the role will be expected to partner with all stakeholders – internal Colleague Experience Group Teams, Corporate Secretary’s Office, General Counsel’s Organization, Finance, Tax, external Consultants and members of Senior Management. The analyst will coordinate our work with the American Express Board’s Compensation and Benefits Committee, the Risk Performance & Incentive Review Committee (“RP&IRC”), as well as manage our Bank Holding Company related regulatory relationship with the Federal Reserve Board and the Office of the Comptroller of Currency, and all other aspects of corporate governance relating to executive compensation and regulatory commitments.
The complete details of this job are as follows:
Ensure compliance with guidance from regulators and liase with other groups in the organization that work with regulators (eg. risk, compliance, legal, audit etc.)
Coordinating with American Express Finance, Tax and Legal on accounting and regulatory aspects of these programs.
Market Practices: maintain awareness of practices among competitors and of regulatory and business trends in exec comp
Manage the governance and risk agenda, ensuring all processes are documented and appropriate controls are in place and being adhered to; work with Ops risk / Audit on a regular basis
Assist with preparation of Company’s annual proxy statement and other regulatory filings
Assist with preparation and coordination of materials for Compensation Committee Meetings, including supporting documentation relating to data, competitive benchmarking, and other trending hot topics
Assist with preparation and coordination of materials for Risk Performance & Incentive Review Committee (“RP&IRC”) meetings,including supporting documentation relating to data and the compilation of materials, benchmarking, and other trending hot topics
Responsible for the quarterly LTIA plan administration for Company-wide colleagues who are eligible for equity compensation.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
Executive Compensation/Regulatory knowledge and experience
2 – 4+ years of Executive Compensation/Regulatory experience
2 – 4+ years of experience with process management and process improvement
Quick learner
Willingness to resolve issues independently and confident working with ambiguity
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good relationship skills and ability to influence others
Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management, including cross-functional colleagues in Risk, Finance, Colleague Experience Group, Tax and the General Counsel’s Organization
Proficient in use of the computer and software packages such a MS Applications: MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel etc
