BCAS Appeals Finance Ministry and GST Authorities to Extend Due Date for GSTR-3B Filing

BCAS Requests Extension of GSTR-3B Filing Deadline for September 2025 Amid Diwali Festivities
The Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society (BCAS) has recently written a formal representation to the Finance Ministry and GST authorities, urging them to extend the due date for GSTR-3B filing for September 2025.
In its representation, BCAS highlighted the past due date of October 20, 2025, overlapping with the Diwali Festival period, increasing the burden and challenges for businesses and professionals in compliance. Extension to the GSTR-3B deadline will help in smoother compliance and ease of doing business in the country.
This year, Diwali is falling on two days, i.e., October 20 and 21, 2025. Meaning, people nationwide will celebrate this festival on both dates, and the statutory due dates for filing Form GSTR-3B are October 20, 22, and 24, 2025, which clash with the dates of festivals. If no extension is done to the date, then individuals liable to file form GSTR-3B will not be able to enjoy their festival with their loved ones and will stay tense even during the festival season. Therefore, BCAS is humbly requesting the government to extend the due date for filing Form GSTR-3B for September 2025.
The Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society (BCAS) has also shared this move on its Twitter handle, where it has also shared a scanner using which individuals can support this initiative.
