CBI Arrests Officer in Nashik for Demanding Bribe in IGST Case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) recently shared a press release on October 15, 2025 regarding a bribery case.
The CBI registered a case on October 14, 2025, against the accused. It is alleged that the accused first demanded a bribe of Rs. 50 lakh from the complainant to avoid taking legal action in a private company’s IGST input matter, but later reduced the demand to Rs. 22 lakh.
It is also claimed that the accused asked the complainant to pay Rs. 5 lakh on October 14, 2025 and the remaining Rs. 17 lakh on October 17, 2025.
On October 14, 2025, CBI organised a trap outside his office in Nashik to caught the accused red handed while accepting Rs. 5 lakh. However, he was immediately arrested the same day.
Searches were carried out at his home and office, where Rs. 19 lakh in cash and important documents were recovered.
