ICAI Extends MEF Filing Deadline for 2025-26 to October 10 The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has made an official announcement dated September 20, 2025, regarding the extension of the due date for filing the Multipurpose Empanelment Form (MEF) for the year 2025-26.

In order to award its members with some extra and sufficient time to file MEF for 2025-26, the ICAI has extended the deadline to October 10, 2025, from September 26, 2025. Hence, now the members of ICAI have more time for the submission of MEF till October 10, 2025. Additionally, ICAI has warned all its members that this is the last time extension has been done to the due date of the Multipurpose Empanelment Form (MEF); no further extension will be granted. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid missing this deadline, as it may attract penalties and other legal consequences against the member. Also, ICAI's Professional Development Committee (PDC) needs to submit the Bank Branch Auditors’ Panel to RBI within the stipulated time.

Members are also being informed to go through the advisory once before beginning to file their MEF forms for the year 2025-26. The advisory includes eligibility criteria, filing procedure, significant parameters (grants of credits), details related to UCN (Unique Code Number), experience details, etc. If members have any clarification/query/complaint regarding the form filing, they can write to the Professional Development Committee (PDC) under the tab “MEF Complaint Entry” at https://meficai.org/.
