Big Update: DIR-3 KYC Filing to become costly, MCA Notifies revised Fee Structure
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has issued an Official Notification No. G.S.R. 300(E), dated April 21, 2026, notifying amendments to the Companies (Registration Offices and Fees) Rules, 2014. These amended rules will now be called the "Companies (Registration Offices and Fees) Amendment Rules, 2026".
The introduced change relates to the fees charged for filing Form DIR-3 KYC Web. This form is used by directors to update or verify their KYC (Know Your Customer) details. As per the revised rules, if the DIR-3 KYC Web form is filed within the statutory time limit under the prescription under sub-rule (1) of rule 12A of the Companies (Appointment and Qualification of Directors) Rules, 2014, no fee will be charged.
However, if the form is furnished after the statutory time limit or if it is being filed to reactivate a Director Identification Number (DIN), a fee of Rs 5000 will be charged. Moreover, if a director files the DIR-3 KYC Web form again at any time to make changes in their details, a fee of Rs 500 will be charged for each such filing.
This aforementioned action has been taken by the MCA in pursuance of its powers granted under Sections 396, 398, 399, 403 and 404 read with sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 469 of the Companies Act, 2013 (18 of 2013).
