Breaking: Proposed Changes in CA Course
As per the information available on Social media, the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) is proposing changes in CA Course to government to become more relevant to the needs of the changing world.
Final publication of the notification in the official Gazette of India for the applicability of New Course will take few months from now.
Important Points in Proposed Scheme Changes:
- CA which was a course of 48 months, will now be able to complete in 42 months.
- Articleship Period to be reduced from 3 years to 2 years.
- Allowed leaves in Articleship also reduced from 156 to 24 only.
- For taking COP, one has to undergo 1 year of Work Experience under FCA in Practice.
- Final Attempt only after 6 months of completion of Articleship Period of 2 months.
- From 8 Papers reduced to 6 Papers now {in Final & I Intermediate both).
- Can Register for Foundation in 10th also.
- Foundation Examination may be given after appearance of 12th exam. (Currently, after passing 12th only, one can appear in Foundation Examination).
- Earlier 8 papers in Intermediate & Final ➔ Now only 6 papers.
- Now MCQ of 30% in all 6 papers & with Negative Marking of 25%.
