BUDGET 2022: Highways to be expanded by 25,000 km says FM Nirmala Sitharaman
The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting her fourth Union Budget in Parliament in a paperless manner, like she did last year. Domestic and foreign investors, as well as other interest groups such as farmers, crypto investors, worried middle class and business organisations, as well as MPs, will be watching the Budget address closely.
In her Budget speech, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the focus will stay on the PM Gati Shakti programme to develop India’s infrastructure sector.
Highways would be expanded by 25,000 kilometres, she stated.
Infrastructure investment is critical to India’s economic resurgence and employment development.
