CA Professional Misconduct: ICAI Removes Names of 13 Chartered Accountants from Members Register

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has removed the name of 13 Chartered Accountants from the register of members. The Disciplinary Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has found Chartered Accountants guilty of professional misconduct.

Names of these Member has been removed from the Register of ICAI:

The Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Janakkumar Shantilal Soni(Membership No. 110003), 106, Haash Complex, Near Ellisbridge Police Line, Near Nagari Hospital and Law Garden, AHMEDABAD(Gujarat) 380006, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Clause (7) of Part I of Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 19(1) of the aforesaid Rules, ordered for removal of name of CA. Janakkumar Shantilal Soni (Membership No. 110003) from the Register of Members for a period of 03(Three) years. In pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, it is hereby notified under Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988, that the name of said CA. Janakkumar Shantilal Soni(Membership No. 110003), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 03(Three) years with effect from 24th March, 2023.

Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Som Monoranjan (Membership No. 052290), 7/2, Chowdhury Para Lane, HOWRAH (West Bengal) 711104, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Clause (1) of Part II of Secon Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 19(1) of the aforesaid Rules, imposed a fine of Rs. 4,00,000/-(Rupees Four Lakhs) only to be paid within 90 days and in case of default in payment of fine within stipulated time, his name be removed from the Register of Members for a period of 01(One) month. Since the Respondent has failed to pay the imposed fine within stipulated time, in pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, it is hereby notified under Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988, that the name of said CA. Som Monoranjan (Membership No. 052290), shall stand removed for a period of 01(One) month with effect from 24th March, 2023.

Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Samar Jit Mitra (Membership No. 010653), 9, Kiran Sankar Roy Road, 1st Floor, KOLKATA (West Bengal) 700001, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Clause (1) of Part II of Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 19(1) of the aforesaid Rules, imposed a fine of Rs. 2,00,000/-(Rupees Two Lakhs) only to be paid within 90 days and in case of default in payment of fine within stipulated time, his name be removed from the Register of Members for a period of 01(One) month. Since the Respondent has failed to pay the imposed fine within stipulated time, in pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, it is hereby notified under Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988, that the name of said CA. Samar Jit Mitra (Membership No. 010653), shall stand removed for a period of 01(One) month with effect from 24th March, 2023.

Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Tushar Kanti Jana (Membership No. 009125), C/o. Dr. M N G Mahapatra, Sankarara, Tamluk PO, MIDNAPORE (West Bengal) 721636, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Clause (1) of Part II of Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 19(1) of the aforesaid Rules, imposed a fine of Rs. 5,00,000/-(Rupees Five Lakhs) only to be paid within 90 days and in case of default in payment of fine within stipulated time, his name be removed from the Register of Members for a period of 01(One) month. Since the Respondent has failed to pay the imposed fine within stipulated time, in pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, it is hereby notified under Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988, that the name of said CA. Tushar Kanti Jana (Membership No. 009125), shall stand removed for a period of 01(One) month with effect from 24th March, 2023.

Disciplinary Committee has held CA. Sandhya Jayesh Vasandani(Membership No. 128973), M I G 386, K K Nagar, Sector 4, Ranna Park, AHMEDABAD(Gujarat) 380061, guilty of Professional Misconduct falling within the meaning of Items (5) and (7) of Part I of Second Schedule to the aforesaid Act and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 19(1) of the aforesaid Rules, ordered for removal of name of CA. Sandhya Jayesh Vasandani(Membership No. 128973) from the Register of Members for a period of 01(One) year and also imposed a fine of Rs. 1,00,000/-(Rupees One Lakh) only. In pursuance of the aforesaid Order of the Disciplinary Committee and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, it is hereby notified under Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations 1988, that the name of said CA. Sandhya Jayesh Vasandani(Membership No. 128973), shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 01(One) year with effect from 24th March, 2023.

Discipline has held CA. Sidharth Sahni(Membership No. 515503), House No. 1248, Sector 22-B, CHANDIGARH 160022, guilty of ‘Other Misconduct’ falling within the meaning of Item (2) of Part IV of the First Schedule read with Section 22 of the aforesaid Act and consequently after affording an opportunity of being heard in terms of Rule 15(1) of the aforesaid Rules ordered for removal of the name of CA. Sidharth Sahni(Membership No. 515503)from the Register of Members for a period of 15(Fifteen) days and also imposed a fine of Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) only. In pursuance thereof and in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of Section 20 of the aforesaid Act, it is hereby notified under Regulation 18 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 that the name of said CA. Sidharth Sahni(Membership No. 515503) shall stand removed from the Register of Members for a period of 15(Fifteen) days with effect from 24th March, 2023.
