CBDT Grants Tax Exemption to Jhansi Development Authority from AY 2025-26
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) under the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, shared a notification on October 8, 2025.
In exercise of the powers given by Section 10 and clause (46A), sub-clause of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43), the Central Government notifies "Jhansi Development Authority",an authority established under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973 for income tax exemption.
Income tax exemption will be applicable only to the condition that the Jhansi Development Authority continues to be an authority constituted under the Uttar Pradesh Urban Planning and Development Act, 1973 (President's Act No. 11 of 1973), with one or more of the purposes specified in the Income-tax Act of section 10 sub-clause (a) of clause (46A).
Note: This notification will be effective from the assessment year 2025-2026.
