CBI Arrests Absconding SBI Cashier in Rs. 11 Crore Coin Fraud Case The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended Rajesh Kumar Meena, a former cashier and cash officer at State Bank of India's Mehandipur Balaji branch in Karauli district, Rajasthan. Meena, the primary accused in a major coin fraud and financial fraud case involving approximately Rs. 11 crore, was arrested on April 9, 2025, after refusing to surrender for three years. The case originated from a 2021 FIR filed at Todabhim Police Station in Karauli district. Following an order from the Rajasthan High Court dated March 4, 2022, the CBI took over the investigation on April 13, 2022, based on a petition filed by the State Bank of India against the State of Rajasthan. On April 8, 2025, the CBI filed a charge sheet against Meena and other bank officials for offenses under the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act, with further investigation kept open against the absconding main accused. After Large-scale tracking efforts, authorities finally located and arrested Meena from Village Bhesina in Bharatpur district's Weir tehsil. Upon his arrest, he was presented before the Special Judge for CBI Cases in Jaipur, who remanded him to five days of police custody for further interrogation and investigation.
