CBI Arrests Wanted Accused in Mahadev Betting App Case After His Arrival at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport :

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested Abhishek Kumar, one of the alleged kingpins and wanted accused in the Mahadev Online Betting App case. He was arrested after arriving from Dubai at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad.

According to the probe, Abhishek Kumar was allegedly involved in running online betting and gambling operations under Mahadev Book. He allegedly coordinated betting panels, collected funds generated from the operations, and acquired immovable properties in Dubai using the proceeds of the betting and gambling activities.

The CBI also conducted a search after his arrest and seized incriminating material from his possession. According to the agency, the material prima facie indicates his involvement in operating the Mahadev Betting App. The CBI stated that Kumar worked closely with other key accused, including Saurabh Chandrakar and Shubham Soni.

After his arrest, Kumar was produced before a local court in Hyderabad, which granted three days of transit remand. He was subsequently taken to Raipur and produced before the competent court, which granted two days of police custody remand.

The case relates to 13 FIRs registered at different police stations in Chhattisgarh. The State Government transferred these cases to the CBI, which subsequently took them over for investigation. So far, the CBI has filed eight chargesheets against 100 accused persons, including the alleged main promoters of the Mahadev Betting App, panel operators, hawala operators and certain public servants of the Chhattisgarh Government.

The investigation is continuing to trace other accused who are still absconding. The CBI is also taking steps to bring the main promoters of the Mahadev Betting App back to India to face trial. So far, seven Red Corner Notices and two extradition proposals have been sent, while extradition proceedings against two accused persons are underway.
