CBI busted Major Inter-state illegal and Fake Job Racket; 3 Arrested

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested three accused in connection with an ongoing investigation into an illegal job racket that is purportedly operating in various states. It was said that these accused approached desperate job aspirants who were preparing for examinations for various Central Government Departments.

A case was filed against six accused and unidentified governmental officers and others. It was stated that an organised syndicate of private individuals took a large amount of money (between Rs. 10-20 lakh, often in installments) from prospective job applicants in various Central Government departments and PSUs under the guise of processing fees/security deposits.

It was also claimed that there were layers of different accused who operated in such a way that no prospective job seeker could contact the next level accused for a return of the purported security deposit or for any form of job confirmation. It was also claimed that the accused devised a sophisticated system for issuing forged appointment letters, call letters for training at various locations, and bogus documentation of candidates at forged training facilities.

The accused engaged in the practice of setting up fake training centers in several states for a group of job searchers and conducting further training for job seekers in order to demonstrate the legitimacy of their method. To show a convincing set-up, the accused allegedly called jobseekers to deliver appointment letters and training call letters at actual government premises.

Searches were conducted in nine locations, including Patna, Mumbai, Bangalore, Mangalore, and Dhanbad, as well as two fake training centers in Sakinaka, Mumbai, and one in Patna (Bihar), where approximately 25 jobseekers were being trained following fake appointments for jobs with various Central Government departments such as FCI, Railways, and GST.

During searches at the Sakinaka training center, the majority of job hopefuls were determined to be from Karnataka, with a handful from Maharashtra. During the searches, incriminating papers such as fraudulent call letters, fake appointment letters, and fake training dossiers of job seekers were discovered.

In Bangalore, an accused’s accomplice was caught escorting two prospective job seekers inside the GST office, allegedly to sign appointment letters to demonstrate authenticity. In Mangalore, the primary two kingpins (accused) were also discovered preparing to open a new bogus training center for job seekers. All three were apprehended.

It was also claimed that the accused had been conducting the fictitious employment racket for the previous two years, duping applicants out of crores of rupees. It was also claimed that the accused provided bogus job-seeker training in Nagpur (Maharashtra), Dhanbad (Jharkhand), Patna & Buxer (Bihar), and Bangalore (Karnataka).

The arrested defendant will be brought before the Competent Court.
