CBI Files a Case Against a Postal Official for Misappropriation of (Approx) Rs.1.62 Crore and Conducts Searches

The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case against then Sub Postmaster, Chintapalli Post Office, Nalgonda Division, Nalgonda, Telengana on allegations that the accused received reports on Social Security Pension Accounts from Branch Post Offices (BPMs) such as Gadia Gowraram Branch Post Office, Injamur Branch Post Office, Kurmapalli Branch Post Office, Nasarlapalli Branch Post Office, Madanapur Branch Post Office, Takkalapall It was also alleged that the accused exaggerated the said reports by changing the amounts in the reports of BPMs in his computer ID and presenting them as if the above-mentioned Branch Post Offices had generated the said reports, and thus he misappropriated Rs. 1,62,50,000/-. (approx).

Searches were carried out at the accused’s residences in Devarkonda, Nalgonda (Telangana).

Further Investigation is under process.
