CBSE Board Exam Pattern 2024-25: CBSE Updated Exam Pattern; Check New Changes
CBSE Board Exam Pattern 2024-25: The Council Board of Secondary Education has announced the notification regarding the changes in the exam pattern. Competency-based questions have around 50% weight. The exam papers will include a higher percentage of questions. Question types include multiple-choice questions (MCQs), case-based questions, and source-based integrated questions. This decision was made to assess the student’s understanding of real-world circumstances. Multiple-choice Questions (MCQs) have a weightage of around 20%. MCQs and select response types account for 20% of the overall mark. This decision was made to put pupils’ critical thinking and decision-making abilities to the test. Constructed response questions have a weightage of approximately 30%. The exam will include competency-based questions. Traditional answer-type questions, such as short and long answer-type questions, now have a weight of 30%.
About 50% Weightage for Competency-Based Questions- The Exam papers will include a higher percentage of questions Multiple-choice Questions (MCQs), Case-based questions and source-based integrated questions. This decision has been taken to test the student’s knowledge in real-world scenarios
About 20% Weightage for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs): 20% of the total mark is given to MCQs or select response types. This decision has been taken to test the critical thinking and quick decision-making skills of the students.
About 30% Weightage for Constructed Response Type Questions- The exam will consist of competency-based questions. The weightage for traditional answer-type questions such as short and long answer-type questions has been reduced from 40%.
