CBSE Class 11 Admission for Academic Year 2024-25: Science Stream Top Choice Among Students This Year

CBSE Class 11 Admission 2024-25: In Previous years, numerous students shifted from CBSE schools to state schools in order to achieve higher marks in their 12 grade but this year many students are going with the CBSE Board. This year, 2024 demands in the science streams among CBSE School students have increased as compared to previous years. It is being noticed by the principals of CBSE schools, that this year even the students who achieved 70% of marks in their 10th grade are willing to opt science stream in class 12th. Although, still there are students who still want to go with the Humanities or commerce stream, but science stream’s popularity has increased too much this year.

“From always Humanities is considered as a high scoring stream and relatively easier as compared to other streams. Generally, the top rankers belong to humanities. But, Humanities as a stream is less popular among students, most of the students feel science offers broader subjects to choose, even if they go for higher studies abroad”

Over 85% of the students from class 10th previous year are continuing their further education with CBSE schools, this year. As per the school officials, universities abroad offer students CBSE education for undergraduate and postgraduate admissions, which is leading more students to continue in CBSE schools and not state boards.

More students have opted to continue in CBSE schools as CBSE education is preferred among universities abroad.

This year students are also opting for unique combinations of subjects like Psychology along with Chemistry and Physics, Sociology with Business Studies. The fifth subject option has developed curiosity among students as there is a diverse range of subjects a student can choose and CBSE has also introduced subjects to develop skills in students, like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Painting, Home Science, Psychology, and Economics.

Many Schools have noticed the majority of students are going with the science stream, mostly with Mathematics and Computer Science. These schools are offering their students optional subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Home Science, and Psychology.

Authority has noticed that the students who achieved high ranks in their class 10th this year are going for the national-level entrance exams to get admission into the Engineering and Medical Sciences schools.

Some schools in the city last year also organised orientation classes for Class X students, helping them bear the pressure from the parent’s side in choosing streams in Class 11th
