CBSE Warns Schools of Bogus Teacher Training Emails Seeking ‘Sensitive’ Information

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) forbade connected institutions from responding to a phony email requesting private information pertaining to teacher training in Python and Artificial Intelligence. The board made it clear that it had not sent any correspondence of this kind and requested that schools disregard the letter.

The board claims that schools were sent an email with the subject line “As per CBSE official syllabus free teacher’s training on AI (practicals) and advanced python,” which included a guarantee that books on AI and Python would be sent to training participants.

“A few schools associated with the CBSE have received emails with the subject line “As per CBSE approved Syllabus Free Teacher’s Training on AI (Practicals) and Advance Python, the Central Board of Secondary Education has learned. As a caveat, the board stated that attendees will also receive a free book on Python and artificial intelligence.

The board was notified that the email requested that schools complete a Google form providing sensitive data, such as the strength of the school and the identities of the local coordinators for CBSE as well as trustees.

“Kindly note that no such email has been sent by the CBSE. The board advised schools, “We strongly advise you to disregard and remove any correspondence of this nature in order to safeguard your private and professional data.

The CBSE has issued an advisory to educators, parents, and students on specific websites and online portals that are disseminating old links and unreliable information about the curriculum, sample question papers, CBSE resources, and activities.
