Chandigarh's GST Revenue Increased by 1% in March
Last month, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection in the city grew by 1% compared to the same month last year. This means the total tax collected was slightly higher than the previous year's amount for that period.
According to the Ministry of Finance, Chandigarh’s GST collection for March 2025 was Rs. 241 crore, which is Rs. 3 crore more than the Rs. 238 crore collected last year, March 2024. Meanwhile, in February 2025, GST collection showed an increment of 12%, reaching Rs. 236 crore, which is Rs. 25 crore more than the Rs. 211 crore collected in February 2024.
After noticing the drop in December, GST collection increased by 8% in January as compared to last year, January 2024. In January 2025, the collection was Rs. 271 crore, which is Rs. 19 crore more than the Rs. 252 crore collected in January 2024.
In December 2024, GST collection dropped by 20%, totaling Rs. 224 crore, which was Rs. 57 crore lower than the Rs. 281 crore collected in December 2023. However, in November 2024, GST collection grew by 20%, reaching Rs. 253 crore—Rs. 43 crore more than the Rs. 210 crore collected in November 2023.
