Chartered Professional Accountant Taken Into Custody by NRPS Fraud Unit In February 2024, police in St. Catharines responded to a business complaint about possible fraud by their accountant. On April 23, 2025, police arrested Cherrel Monton-Matsugu, a 44-year-old from Niagara Falls. She faces several charges:

She has been released from custody and will appear in court on May 21, 2025, at the courthouse in St. Catharines.
