Chennai Custom Arrests a Passenger at Airport for Smuggling Gold Worth Rs. 41.77 Lakhs Chennai Air Customs arrested a passenger arriving from Dubai (EK-542) and seized 4 smuggled Gold Paste Packets worth Rs. 41.77 Lakhs concealed in rectum. During the extraction, gold ingot of 24k purity weighing 928 grams was discovered and seized. The passenger was attempting to smuggle 928 grams of gold paste worth Rs. 41.77 Lakhs. Custom officials recovered 928 grams of Gold paste worth Rs. 41.77 Lakhs and seized under the Customs Act, 1962.
