Chennai Customs Arrests a Passenger at Airport for Smuggling Gold Worth Rs.42.36 Lakh On 06.02.2022, Chennai Customs arrested a passenger who was arriving from Dubai by flight EK-544. The passenger was attempting to smuggle goldpaste and gold ingot weighing 971 grams worth Rs 42.36 lakh. Based on Intel, Customs officials searched the passenger and recovered goldpaste from his innerwear and gold ingot weighing 971 grams worth Rs 42.36 lakh and seized under CA, 1962. Custom officials seized smuggled gold worth Rs. 42.36 lakh from the accused.
