Corporate Mitra Scheme 2026: ICAI, ICSI, ICMAI, and IIT Madras Join Hands to Train India’s Youth
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has introduced a government initiative called the ‘Corporate Mitra Scheme’ to empower India’s youth, support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and build a Viksit Bharat through paraprofessionals called ‘Corporate Mitra’. The scheme was announced in the Union Budget 2026-27. It is a national initiative aimed at facilitating doing businesses in India.
As per the recent reports, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI), the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICoAI), and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras have joined hands through a collaborative framework supported by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to build a cadre of Corporate Mitras to support MSMEs in regulatory compliance and business growth. This is a significant turning point towards the launch of the Corporate Mitra Scheme.
Participants will receive training in areas such as accounting, taxation, banking, financial management, legal and secretarial work, and cost and management accounting.
Indian nationals who have completed their graduation from a well-recognised university or are in their final year of graduation, aged up to 30 years, can apply for the Corporate Mitra Scheme. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
According to the course structure, the scheme will include 6 months (for a total of around 150 hours) of online academic learning. The sessions will be led by experts. After the academic learning, the selected candidates will need to undergo on-the-job training with professional firms associated with ICAI, ICSI, or ICMAI.
The course fee is Rs 3,000 plus GST. A 50% fee concession is available for women candidates and those pertaining to the North Eastern States, Himalayan regions, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Lakshadweep.
Candidates will undergo periodic assessments and a final evaluation. Those who will successfully clear both the academic training and practical internship will be considered fully trained and will also receive a Corporate Mitra certificate, preparing them to support MSMEs with professional business compliance services.
