Hyderabad GST Zone Celebrates GST Day with Student Outreach Programme at Villa Marie College
In relation to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Day, every year celebrated on July 01, an outreach programme was organised at the Department of Commerce, Villa Marie Degree College of Women, Somajiguda, Hyderabad, by the GST Commissionerate, Hyderabad GST Zone.
The programme was aimed at increasing knowledge in students about GST, which is considered one of the most significant tax reforms in India, spreading awareness and making students aware of the impacts of GST on the country's economy and taxation framework.
The event was honoured by the chief guest N J Kumaresh, Principal Commissioner of Central Tax, Hyderabad CGST Commissionerate, and guest of honour L Ramesh, Assistant Commissioner of Central Tax, Ameerpet CGST Division, along with his officials' team from the division.
Some individuals, including Chinnamma, Secretary, Villa Marie Education Society; Revati Devi Mathur, Principal; and Dr K Naveen Kumar, IQAC Coordinator, played a major/key role in the successful organisation of the programme.
In the event, activities such as essay writing and elocution competitions were conducted related to GST and taxation. These competitions tried to enhance students' analytical thinking, communication skills and understanding of the nation's taxation system.
The winner at the end of the programme was praised by N J Kumaresh, Principal Commissioner of Central Tax, Hyderabad CGST Commissionerate.
