Delhi CM Conducts Surprise Inspection at State GST Office, ITO; Several Officials Found Absent
On Wednesday, a surprise GST inspection was conducted at the State GST office in ITO by Delhi's Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta. Several GST officials were found absent from the office, including senior officers.
The CM has ordered the immediate issuance of show cause notices (SCNs) to all these officers missing from duty, asking them to explain the reason behind this negligence towards their duties.
The GST department has been strictly directed to make sure officials are properly complying with the rules and their duties. She flagged that biometric attendance is obligatory for every official.
The department has been additionally directed to submit the data for biometric attendance for the past one month so that the presentability of the officials can be checked.
