DGGI Raids Garment Sellers in Jaipur for GST Evasion Worth Crores

The Directorate General of Goods and Services Tax Intelligence (DGGI) in Jaipur has carried out raids at 10 locations of a garment seller for evading GST worth crores of rupees. The raids were carried out at the homes and shops of the Motiani family, their relatives, and business partners, who run women’s clothing businesses under the names Lavina Textile and Radha Rani. The DGGI officials went to the house of the seller in Santosh Sagar Colony in the morning. At first, the family did not allow the officials to enter the house and even attempted to tamper with documents. However, they failed in doing this.

Additionally, the raids were also done at several other places in Jaipur, including Sawarda Complex, Dhula House, Sanganer, Mansarovar, and Sitapura Industrial Area, etc. By late night, the inventory verification at showrooms in fruit market area near Dhula House was finished. During the raids, the manufacturers of readymade garment and kurti, and traders paid Rs. 1 crore.
