ED Files Prosecution Complaint in matter of Andhra PG Medical Entrance Test 2014 Leak Case
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has filed a Prosecution Complaint before the Hon'ble Special Judge under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, against I Sri Ameer Ahamad Kogaluru and others (PMLA),
In a case involving the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test-2014 question paper leaks, Visakhapatnam (APPGMET-2014). The Prosecution Complaint requested that the accused be punished for money laundering and that the attached assets, valued at Rs. 76 lakh in the form of movable and immovable properties, be confiscated in the name of Sri Ameer Ahamad Kogaluru and others. The Hon'ble Court of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge cum Special Judge for PMLA matters, Visakhapatnam, has taken cognizance of the abovementioned prosecution complaint in case dated 19.04.2022.
On the basis of an FIR filed by the Crime Investigation Department of the Andhra Pradesh Police Department against Sri Ameer Ahamad Kogaluru and others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Section 8 of the A. P. Public Examinations (Prevention of Malpractices and Unfair Means) Act, 1997, the ED launched a money-laundering investigation.
Previously, on December 2, 2021, a Provisional Attachment Order was issued, attaching assets worth Rs. 76 lakh, comprising mobile and immovable properties in Santhebennur, Davanagere District, and Mysuru. The ED has finished its investigation and filed a prosecution case with the Hon'ble Special Judge (PMLA) in Visakhapatnam, which has been recorded.
